Lady Gaga - Gay rights supporter

Now, we all love a bit of Gaga, I am especially excited right now because I recently saw her Born this way ball in Melbourne, Australia a couple of weeks ago and it was amazing.

1 year ago she had a one off show to perform at Sydney Town Hall on 13th July 2011. Only 1,000 people have scored an invitation to see the show!

I am not only mentioning this because she is a big gay icon and gay rights supporter but also because she had an interview with A Current Affair's Tracy Grimshaw just before the Sydney town hall show and she mistakenly thought that the Australia Prime minister Julia Gillard was a lesbian.
Gaga was asked if she thought that Julia was hypocritical for living with her ‘partner’ whilst constantly supporting ‘traditional marriage’ not gay marriage.

So thinking that this meant she was with a woman Gaga called Julia hypocrite and ranted about it for some time.

Pretty funny! This clearly shows that Gillard does not practice what she preaches.  By the end of interview though, Gaga realised she was mistaken and whispered to Tracy for the question to be asked again and so Tracy did so and explained why to everyone-  which made the audience chuckle.  Gaga said she misunderstood because of the way the question was worded, explaining that in the USA the word ‘partner’ is generally used by a gay person to describe their lover. However in true Gaga style, she still spoke out for what she (and I) believe in.  When the question was re-shot she still urged her Australian fans to make politicians ‘hear their screams’ against the government’s stance. She said ‘It’s 2011, get on with it’ and ‘I am so against the way certain laws and restrictions send messages that one person is better than another…I urge all of you to mobilise your voices so the Prime Minister can hear you scream that you want to be equal.’

Gay marriage - Julia Gillard the bigot

Let's have a little rant about our lovely female prime minister here in Australia, Julia Gillard and her anti-gay stance on same-sex marriage in Australia.

Yes, unfortunately Gillard does not support the legalisation of gay marriage and she states that whilst she is in office the policies on same sex marriage will not change. In fact, it seems to be her personal beliefs that govern rather than it being what the public want.

On gay marriage, Gillard said: ‘I do find myself on the conservative side in this question’ (of gay marriage) and she declared there are ‘some important things from our past that need to continue to be part of our present and part of our future’ (not gay marriage).  She commented on the Marriage Act and said that, marriage being between a man and woman – ‘has a special status’.

Insultingly, what she is implying is that same sex couples should not be able to marry because she believes such relationships to be inferior to male-female relationships. What a kick in the face! She is unwilling to allow for laws to be passed to allow gay people to marry because they just aren’t special enough in her book.

Who gave her the right to judge and decide what should and shouldn’t be a part of OUR future? This is a democracy.

She is very unprofessional to let her personal beliefs interfere with her governing so much. As a leader of a government you would think she would want to keep the public happy and that she would value their opinion.  Especially considering that 60% of Australians believe same-sex couples should be allowed to marry and 80% of same-sex partners believe they should have the right to marry.

Gillard also said it was important for people to understand their Bible stories ‘not because I’m an advocate of religion – clearly I’m not – but once again, what comes from the Bible has formed such an important part of our culture.’  Yes you heard her correctly, she is saying that we shouldn’t allow same-sex marriage in Australia because it wasn’t sanctified in the bible. What a stone age and archaic view she has on the governing of highly developed westernised country!  Well if it is her personal opinion that, in particular, we should uphold what the bible has to say on the sanctity of marriage and keep that a part of our future, then I might like to uphold what the Middle Ages had to say about red heads.  Yes that’s right if we delve into the Middle Ages we would find that red hair was thought to be a sign of beastly sexual desire and moral degeneration as well as sign of a witch, a werewolf or a vampire.  But hey, you don’t see me going around trying to stake Julia in the heart do you?

You may ask, what reason could Julia Gillard possibly have for personally opposing same-sex marriages? Well as Labor leader she can claim to be upholding party policy, even though the ALP in her home state of Victoria has voted overwhelmingly to end that policy. But as a ‘personal’ stance, her opposition to gay people marrying is inexplicable. I have tried to figure out why she would be against it…..

·         She is an atheist, so it can't be because she believes God ordained marriage as a holy sacrament and condemns homosexuality as a sin.
·         She has no children, so it can't be because she believes there's an obligatory link between procreation and the right to marry.
·         She is in a de facto relationship, so it can't be because she opposes legally recognising different types of relationships.
·         She is a female leader, so it can't be because she believes in some kind of profound biological difference between the sexes.
·         And as Australian’s first female Prime Minister, she can't believe that discrimination in the past justifies discrimination into the future.

For those that argue that she is working towards ‘equality’ because she has stated that Labor supports civil partnership schemes, I will tell them to look at US and British studies showing that these schemes do not provide the legal equality or social recognition that comes with marriage.  If they then say: ‘but Labor has supported financial entitlements for same-sex couples’ then I would reply that we cannot live on bread alone.

Most of all, we will keep asking why a Prime Minister who should have every reason to personally support equality, betrays her fellow citizens by continuing to oppose it.

We must keep fighting for equality, after all it is inevitable.

TPG - AWFUL INTERNET PROVIDER

I REALLY HATE TPG!

I have been with TPG for almost a year and was on a 6 month contract at $49.99 a month.

Just a little something I made to show my love for TPG
I made sure it was a 6 month contract so that when we move house in under the 12 month period we would not be breaking a contract and would not incur a fee.

I emailed TPG on 2/7/12 telling them I would like our account cancelled at the end of July, 30/7/12. I got an email back confirming this.

Then I checked my bank statement 2 days later and found a $19.99 fee.

I emailed TPG asking them what this was and that they need to reverse this charge as I was told at the start that there was no fee because I was on a 6 month contract and had seen that through already.

I then received a series of broken English emails making no sense, re hashing the terms and conditions like the robots they are.

I finally got a response making a bit more sense telling me that because I wanted to cancel the account in 28 days not 30 days I would incur a fee. WHAT THE HELL!!!

Why didn't these robots in the little TPG money grabbing hell hole advise me it might be better if I have the cancellation date as 2/8/12  - 30days from the time I sent my first email and that way I would not be charged a $19.99 fee.

Oh that's right, because they are idiots.  Absolute MONEY GRABBING BUFFOONS!

Not to mention that their service has been an utter shambles.  Our pages online do not load, every single day we must turn the brand new router and modem on and off to make the connection work again.

IF YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT GOING WITH TPG THEN THINK AGAIN!

YOU WILL GET AN UNRELIABLY SLOW CONNECTION AND YOU WILL HAVE TO THEN SPEAK TO THEIR IDIOTIC CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THAT WILL MAKE YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE BOIL AND THEN YOU WILL NEED TO GO TO THE DOCTOR.

DON'T DO IT TO YOURSELVES PEOPLE, JUST DON'T. I LOVE YOU TOO MUCH.

Cell IQ - Fat burning - IT WORKS!

I thought I'd share my experience of Cell-IQ with everyone as it appears there are very few reviews from consumers.

So what is Cell-IQ?
It is a pain-free, non-invasive device used for reducing fat by shining the emitted light energy (laser) over the skin. cell-IQ is a revolutionary new fat-reduction technology. A smart alternative to surgery, cell-IQ using a low-level laser to target the stubborn spots that don’t respond to regular diet and exercise.

How does it work?
It targets fat in specific problem areas. Laser pads are positioned on the target area such as upper arms, abdomen or thighs. This is a big advantage over diet and exercise which can reduce overall body fat but not shape individual areas.
cell-I gives fast results with improvements showing immediately after the first treatment and over the course of treatments. cell-IQ™ is ideal for someone who has made a decision to improve their overall diet and exercise regime, or has struggled to get results from a particular area despite regular exercise and healthy eating.
The question you are all probably wanting to know the answer to is DOES IT WORK? The answer is YES!
How did I come across it?
I saw a deals voucher online for $49 for a 20 minute Cell-IQ session followed by a compulsory pure cardio gym session (where you must burn 200-300 calories).  So I bought one and went along to a session last night in Sydenham, Fernwood Fitness.  The lady looking after me was so nice and informative and took me through everything.  She explained again that it is painless and took my tummy measurements.  I don't remember what they were though because she didn't give me a copy but I do remember what I lost at the end.
The laser pads they refer to are plastic aprx. 10cm x 10cm circular devices attached by a wire each and they glow red (laser) when switched on.  4 are placed in specific places over your treatment area. I chose my stomach.  So I had 2 either side of my belly button. They were strapped in with a black belt.  She also placed to lymph-node stimulating device near at the top of my legs near my groin - this is to stimulate the lymph-nodes to work that fat away when it reaches them.  She covered me with a blanket and dimmed the light so I could relax. She came back in 3 times at 6minute intervals to move the laser pads 1cm downwards so that a larger area was covered.
I relaxed and before I knew it it was time to sweat my arse off in the gym! (Boo!) The lady took my measurements in 3 places as she did at the start and noted down them one by one.  Above belly button I lost 5cm!!!! On belly button I lost 2cm and below I lost 1cm. Apparently that's very good results.  Despite this I couldn't visibly SEE the difference but I guess it was there!   I then went to the gym for 40 minutes burning 250calories to get the fat mobilised and got rid of quickly.
They recommend 8 treatments spread out over 2 weeks each but I can't afford to pay the full price.  However, it would definitely be something I would recommend to people who have a spare $800 rolling around, have been eating healthy, exercising for some time and have a stubborn area of fat that they just cannot shift.  I was told that you might not get great results if you were obese and tried this treatment and it is best to work off the bulk fat with a exercise regime and healthy eating first.
Having said all that, do you know what I did after I finished?
I went and bought Mcdonalds because I was starving and it was late. MMM big mac!

You can check out some photographs of results HERE on the Fernwood Fitness website.
They do not tell you how many treatments these women have had but I would say they have had the full course of Cell-IQ and gym sessions to have such dramatic results so don't think after one treatment you will lose 2 dress sizes!
Remember the cm loss is the 3 measurement losses added together. For example, above, on and below belly button losses added to make a total.  I am warning you because I was a bit deceived in thinking it was going to be 6cm from one single measurement.
So if you have seen a deal going around and you are not sure if you should part with your money, I would say just do it and try it. You'll get a work out if you go to a Cell-IQ at a gym anyway so that's always a good thing.

Go and try it for yourself!
Peace x
